OUR PILLARS

PREMIUM FILTERED WATER

Did you know that bottled still or sparkling water has a major negative impact on our environment? From its production process, to unnecessary, lengthy transportation (aka more carbon emissions), there is a lot of energy that goes into bottled water.

In order to reduce the amount of single-use glass going to landfill, as well as the carbon emissions that are involved in transportation, we use a premium water filtration system that allows us to provide clean, filtered still or sparkling water straight at our outlets. With this change, we are saving 20,000 bottles from going into the landfill and 7.3 tonnes of carbon from going into the atmosphere each year.

What’s more, a portion of our proceeds from the water program goes towards funding the planting of trees in our Providore Forest and removing ocean waste. Join us in making a difference by choosing our premium filtered water!

THE PROVIDORE FOREST

Together with eco-tech company Green Steps Group, we are helping to re-populate the forests of Borneo and Sumatra in areas that have been affected by deforestation. Each tree that is planted removes an annual average of 22kg in carbon emissions, and as of 2024, we’ve planted 48,642 trees, which is equivalent to offsetting 1,070,124kg of carbon.

Our goal is to be able to plant as many trees as we can, and to eventually reach carbon neutrality. Every tree planted has a positive and far-reaching ripple effect for the future of our planet.

REMOVING OCEAN WASTE

Every year, more than 150 million tonnes of plastic waste are estimated to have been dumped into the world’s oceans, with another 8 millions tonnes estimated to be added every year.

A new project we have embarked on in Q42022 together with Green Steps Group is the removal of ocean-bound waste. By working with local communities in areas hit by ocean pollution to help clean up beaches, this effort contributes to regenerating marine life and coral beds and in improving the overall beach environment. As of December 2022, we have helped to remove 2,637kg of ocean waste from operations in Tanzania.

In 2023, we will be embarking on waste removal projects in Singapore and Bali, with a goal of removing 15,000kg of waste for the year.

ETHICAL MENU CHOICES

We pride ourselves on sourcing premium ingredients from ethical and sustainable sources, and many of the ingredients on our menus are organic, sustainable or ethically farmed. We use sustainably farmed or fished seafood, free-range chickens, ethically-farmed eggs and grass-fed beef on our menus.

In addition, we make a conscious effort to support those looking to reduce their meat consumption. Up to 60% of the menu dishes are vegetarian, or can be made vegetarian on request. Plant-based alternatives and vegan options are provided where possible.

Also, the wines featured on our wine list are 100% biodynamic, certified organic or organically farmed. Many are made with minimal-intervention winemaking practices, or are natural wines, which use less sulfites, animal products or commercial additives during the winemaking process.

PARTNERSHIP WITH CARBON NEUTRAL AUSTRALIA

Shipping and freight are one of the largest contributors of carbon emissions today, and a large number of the ingredients and retail items that we bring in come from Australia.

As such, we have decided to embark on a journey and commit ourselves to offset the CO2e generated from the products we import. This is an annual project, whereby we calculate our carbon emissions for the year, and then invest in biodiverse reforest carbon offsets in Australia via our partner, Carbon Neutral Australia. This project helps to provide crucial habitats for thousands of species of wildlife, and also contributes to local employment and training opportunities.

For the past year, together with Prestige Foods International, we have offset a total 705 tonnes of CO2e, and we look forward to a fruitful ongoing partnership towards carbon neutrality for our imports!
